Common questions in this chat
How do I extend my visa on arrival in Bali?
The e-VOA/VOA lets you stay 30 days and can be extended once. E-VOA holders can claim the extension online at evisa.imigrasi.go.id, pay the fee shown there, then attend an immigration office for a photo/interview. You need an onward ticket. Timing windows differ between offices, so start early and check the portal. Source: imigrasi.go.id/en/e-voa/. Checked: 2026-10.
How does renting a villa yearly work in Bali?
Yearly rentals are usually paid upfront, and one Ubud dataset found yearly prices a median 10% below twelve monthly payments; monthly rentals are more flexible and typically need a one-month deposit. Agencies list e.g. Canggu 2-bed villas from about IDR 170 million a year. These are asking prices; get a written contract and bargain. Do I have to pay the Bali tourist levy?
Yes: foreign visitors pay IDR 150,000 per person, once per trip, separate from the visa. Pay before arrival via Love Bali (cards, transfer, QRIS) and keep the QR voucher; otherwise pay cashless at the Ngurah Rai airport or Benoa port counters. Unpaid tourists can be refused entry to attractions. Source: lovebali.baliprov.go.id/faq. Checked: 2026-10.
What is the fine if I overstay in Bali?
Overstay is fined per day, payable in cash rupiah at the airport when you leave, up to a limit of days. Beyond that UK guidance says detention, deportation at your cost and a possible re-entry ban; ban length is reported differently, so avoid it. Check the current daily fine on the Immigration site.
